Dan Bryan is the Dean of Administration at the College of International Security Affairs (CISA), a component of National Defense University in Washington DC. As the Dean of Admin, he is responsible for resourcing, personnel, operations, logistics, and facilities actions supporting CISA’s Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase II and Strategic Security Studies graduate degree programs.
Prior to CISA, Dan served as Dean of Administration at the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, also at National Defense University, and at the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) as the program manager responsible for the International Professional Military Education Alumni Connectivity and Continuing Education (ACCE) program. While assigned to DSCA, he also served as the product owner responsible for the modernization of the Security Assistance Network (SAN), a web-based tool used to administratively track more than 17,000 international military students trained and educated in the United States annually.
Before transitioning to government service, Dan served in the United States Navy on destroyers, frigates, amphibious ships, and a cruiser while operating in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Assignments ashore include U.S. Central Command (J3-O/Current Operations), the Navy Staff (OPNAV N85/Expeditionary Warfare Resourcing), U.S. Transportation Command (MSC NAVTRANS Detachment), and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Policy). Dan’s final military assignment was as a seminar leader and associate dean at the National War College, a component of National Defense University.
