Regina Galer is visiting faculty from the Department of Energy's (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration, where she has managed nuclear security and non-proliferation work with Russia, India, China, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Belarus, and other governments, since 2004. She served on the National Security Council as both Director for South Asia and Director for Nuclear Threat Reduction, 2018-2019.
Previously, she covered issues of energy and nuclear nonproliferation as the Department of Energy's (DOE) first Senior Energy Advisor in U.S. Embassy-New Delhi. She served as the DOE Director in U.S. Embassy-Islamabad, 2010-2011. Regina began her career as a Nonproliferation Graduate Fellow from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, in June 2003, after earning a Master of Public Administration and Master of Arts from Indiana University. She has a Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University.
