CDR Peter "TOFU" Eudy

Assistant Professor, Military Faculty

Commander Eudy, a native of San Antonio, Texas, was commissioned by the United States Naval Academy in May of 2000 where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in History.


He reported to his first operational assignment onboard USS WASP (LHD 1) in January of 2001, serving as a Main Propulsion Division Officer and First Division Officer and was designated a Surface Warfare Officer. In January of 2003 CDR Eudy transferred to USS LABOON (DDG 58) after attending the AEGIS School, serving as the Ship’s Assistant Combat Systems Officer and Maintenance and Material Officer, leading the ship through a yard period and INSURV inspection. CDR Eudy was accepted into the aviation training pipeline in May of 2004 and received the Training Wing 5 Commodore’s Academic Achievement Award before being designated a Naval Aviator in August of 2006. Flying the SH-60B Seahawk with the “Warlords” of HSL-51 in Atsugi Japan, he was at sea for a total of twenty months onboard USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63), USS SHILOH (CG 67), and USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) in support of 7th FLEET operations.


In August of 2010 CDR Eudy transferred to the Naval War College and was selected to the Halsey Alfa research group, earning his Master of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies and receiving the James V. Forrestal Award for Force Planning.


Joining the “Proud Warriors” of HSL-42 in October of 2011, CDR Eudy served as AIR Det OIC, deploying in 2012 onboard USS VELLA GULF (CG 72) in support of OPERATION SHARP SENTRY. After transitioning to the MH-60R, he served as the squadron’s Operations Officer before becoming the squadron’s Maintenance Officer for the last year of his tour.


In June of 2014 CDR Eudy reported to the Chief of Naval Operations N31 Directorate at the Pentagon, where he successfully completed a three-year tour as the U.S. Navy’s STO Chief. Staying in D.C., he attended the U.S. National War College, earning a Master of Science Degree in National Security Strategy with a concentration in European Studies from the Eisenhower School, receiving the Navy League writing award for 2018.

Reporting to the SIXTH Fleet’s N35 Directorate in Naples, Italy in July of 2018, CDR Eudy served as the Lead Future Operations Planner for all SIXTH Fleet Operations within EUCOM and AFRICOM until July of 2020.


Previously, CDR Eudy served in the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) as the Senior Military Advisor for Strategic Analysis for OSD Policy, Strategy and Force Development. Currently, he is serving at the National Defense University as a military professor teaching National Security Strategy and Drone Warfare in a Master of Arts curriculum.


His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2), the Navy Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal (3), as well as various campaign and service awards..
