Colonel Zuber is a native of Cheyenne, Wyoming and a graduate of the University of Wyoming with a B.A. in Special Education.  He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1995.

His command assignments include: HAWK Platoon Commander, 1st Light Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion/Marine Air Control Squadron 1 (Reinforced (REIN)), 1996-1998; Commander, Light Armored Vehicle-Air Defense Platoon, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1999-2002 and; Battalion Commander, 3d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion (3d LAAD Bn), 2013-2015.

His staff assignments include: Battery A Executive Officer and Training/Weapons and Tactics Training Program Officer, 3d LAAD Bn, 1998-1999; Ground Based Air Defense Division Head, Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron 1 (MAWTS-1), 2002-2005; Weapons and Tactics Instructor, with 3d LAAD Bn while deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF) I, 2003; Executive Officer, Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 18, 2005-2006; Operations Officer and Executive Officer, with 3d LAAD Bn while deployed in support of OIF 5-7.2 and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM 6-8.2, 2006-2008; Operations Officer, Marine Air Control Group 28 (REIN), and Executive Officer, Marine Air Control Group 28 Detachment, while deployed in support of OIF 9.2, 2009; Short Range Air Defense Officer, Department of Aviation, Headquarters Marine Corps, 2010-2012; Operations Officer, Marine Air Control Group 38, 2012-2013; Strategic Planner, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, U.S. Department of State, 2016-2019 and; Chief, Strategic Engagements, Combined Joint Task Force - Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, Baghdad, Iraq, 2019-2020.

He is a graduate of the Marine Corps HAWK and Stinger Officer Courses, the Air Support Control Officer Course, the MAWTS-1 Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course, the School of Infantry Light Armored Vehicle Leaders Course, Amphibious Warfare School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and the Joint and Combined Warfighting School. He was a 2015- 2016 Commandant of the Marine Corps Top Level School Fellow, at the U.S. Department of State, and holds a Master’s Degree in Military Studies.

His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (with oak leaf cluster), the Meritorious Service Medal (with gold star), the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with four gold stars), and the Army Achievement Medal.

Colonel Zuber is currently assigned to the College of International Security Affairs, National Defense University.
