ACADEMIC YEAR 2018-2019
**Note** These dates are subject to change. Students should check their program calendars for the most up-to-date information.
The 2018-2019 Academic Year will begin on Monday, 06 August 2018 with U.S. Student Arrival & In-Processing. Convocation & Orientation will take place the remainder of that week.
Phase-I will begin with the kickoff exercise on Friday, 10 August 2018.
SCAP & CTF academic travel & visits will take place the week of Sunday, 09 September 2018.
Phase-II Fall 2018 will begin with Orientation on Monday, 17 September. There is a Research and Writing week for CTF, SCAP, and JSOMA students the week of Sunday, 18 November. The Fall semester will end on Friday, 14 December.
Phase-II Spring 2019 will begin with Orientation on Monday, 07 January 2019. There is a Research and Writing week for CTF, SCAP, and JSOMA students the week of Sunday, 17 February 2019. Phase-II Spring 2019 semester will end on Friday, 05 April 2019.
SCAP & CTF academic travel will take place Monday, 08 April through Friday, 12 April 2019.
An additional Research and Writing week will begin Sunday, 14 April through Friday, 19 April 2019.
Phase-III Spring 2017 will begin Monday, 22 April and will end on Friday, 17 May 2019.
Completion of the thesis and the end-of-year exercise will take place for the remainder of May. Travel & leave is not suggested during this time.
JSOMA Graduation is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, 30 May.
Fort McNair Student Recognition Ceremony is tentatively scheduled for Monday, 10 June 2019. McNair Graduation (CTF & SCAP) is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, 13 June 2019.
Each program has a calendar in the Office365 platform, used to coordinate the teaching schedule and important dates/events. For students who would like to view their specific classes, please log-in to NDU's Blackboard portal which is available here.
